Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements

Marital contracts are important tools that couples can use to ease the anxiety and financial burden of a divorce.

Prenuptial Agreements are used by couples contemplating a marriage. They can mutually agree upon which issues and assets will be considered jointly owned in the event of a divorce.

Postnuptial agreements are excellent tools for married couples to define a new asset or situation that has come into the marriage. For instance the forming of a new business, the inheritance of an asset or when one spouse will leave the workforce to care for children, are all great examples of where a postnuptial agreement would be useful.
